Teddi Mellencamp, a reality TV star, has been hospitalized after several tumours were found in her brain.
She had been suffering from "severe and debilitating headaches" before she went and sought out medical help, according to a post made on her Instagram account.
"Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months," she explained.
The star added, "Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today – the remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date."
It was not revealed what type of tumours they were or the duration of her hospitalization. Before going into the surgery that would remove two of the tumours, she shaved her head.
"I didn't have this look on my bucket list," she remarked lightly.
Expressing gratitude towards those around her, Mellencamp thanked her "children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health."
"Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey," she added.
