Drake's use of a photo featuring Halle Berry being slimed at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards has taken another twist, with the rapper asserting that the Oscar-winning actress initially granted her permission.

Both Drake and SZA simultaneously shared the iconic photo of Berry covered in green slime on their Instagram accounts last Thursday.

Subsequently, it was revealed that this image served as the official cover art for Drake's latest single, Slime You Out, from his forthcoming album For All The Dogs, set to release on October 6.

Halle Berry expressed her displeasure with Drake's use of the photo in an Instagram comment, stating, "He asked me, and I said NO.

Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do! That was the f***k you to me. Not cool."

In response, Drake's spokesperson provided a statement to EW, explaining that Berry had initially granted permission for the image's use, with the condition that it wouldn't be utilized for "promotional purposes."

However, further conversations apparently led to Berry's assumption that the image was intended for the official album cover, prompting her to retract her consent.

The spokesperson clarified, "Halle at first stated he can use her photo but then said no after further conversations because she assumed it was for his official cover art, which that wasn't the case."

The statement from Drake's spokesperson concluded by stating, "We have corrected things with Halle Berry and want everyone to move on."

While both Drake and SZA have retained their posts featuring Berry's image on their respective Instagram accounts.
