Shakira glimmers at 2023 MTV VMAs twinning with sons Milan, Sasha

Shakira brought her all-grown-up sons along with her to glimmer in gold on the red carpet of the 2023 MTV VMAs at New Jersey's Prudential Center.

In a dazzling chainmail dress by Versace with a plunging neckline, a thigh-high slit, and sexy side cuts that made the bodice look like armour, the 46-year-old shone as brightly as the flashing cameras. It was anything but basic, with just a few strings holding the back together.

She accessorized her dress with a layered necklace and matching metallic gold platform heels by Piferi.

Shakira chose to wear her trademark soft-matte makeup look, which included a smoky eye, sheer lipstick, and peachy-pink blush. She wore her distinctive curls as well.

Milan, 10, and Sasha, 8, Shakira's sons from a previous relationship with Gerard Piqué, joined her for the important event. The two were dressed alike in Versace's well-known baroque pattern on identical black and gold tracksuits.

One of the many highlights of the awards night was the Hips Don't Lie" singer's lovely red carpet moment with her children.

Shakira will be given the Video Vanguard Award this evening, making her the first South American artist to ever be given the renowned distinction.

"I couldn't believe it," the Waka Waka singer said on the red carpet.

"It's such an important award. I mean, Michael Jackson received it once and so many other incredible artists, and I just feel humbled to be here."
