Jake Bloom is dead.

Jake Bloom passed away today at his home in Sun Valley, Idaho, from natural causes. He was a founding member of Bloom, Hergott LLP, the biggest and most successful entertainment law company in Hollywood history. Age-wise, he was 81.

Bloom Hergott, founded in 1970 with Alan Hergott, at its height had more than 75 attorneys working for it and one of the most spectacular client rosters ever amassed.

He worked with directors Ron Howard, John Hughes, and Brad Bird, as well as producers George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, Jerry Bruckheimer, Charles Roven, John Davis, Larry Gordon, and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal LaViolette Feldman Schenkman & Goodman, LLP is the current name of the company. In 2019, both Bloom and Hergott retired.

For his portrayal of the top movie and television stars in the world, Bloom was most admired and respected. Among his many clients were Jackie Chan, Jason Patric, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, and actor and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Additionally, he represented Johnny Depp, who would accuse Bloom of illegally collecting $18 million in fees over a 30-year period by suing Depp. In the end, the parties reached an agreement.
