Florence Welch has disclosed the necessity for "emergency surgery," emphasizing that she isn't currently prepared to divulge the specifics of the incident but underlining that it was a life-saving procedure.
Welch made this revelation on the eve of her birthday, sharing the information on her Instagram page.
This announcement provided insight into the reasons behind the recent cancellations of two performances by her band, Florence + The Machine.
Welch assured her dedicated fan base that she will make a comeback to the stage for upcoming shows scheduled in Portugal and Spain, slated for September.
In an acknowledgment, she expressed her sincere apologies for the recent show cancellations, conveying, "I'm so sorry that I had to cancel the last couple of shows."
She clarified that her feet were not the cause for concern this time. Rather, she disclosed that she had undergone emergency surgery, refraining from delving into the details due to the sensitive nature of the situation.
However, she stressed that the procedure was instrumental in saving her life.
Welch's fans were reassured by her message as she confirmed her intention to return to the stage to conclude the Dance Fever tour, specifically in Lisbon and Malaga.
Florence + The Machine recently conveyed a statement via Instagram, explaining their inability to perform at the Zurich Open Air Festival on August 25 and the Rock en Seine Festival on August 26.
This is the second instance of show disruptions for the band, following Welch's discovery of performing on a broken foot back in November 2022, which led to the postponement of their UK Dance Fever tour.
