Britney Spears, Sam Asghari’s reason behind ending ‘toxic’ marriage

Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have been keeping their marital problems under folds for too long, multiple sources cited when the separation news broke the internet.

"It's been very toxic between them for a long time," says a source of the couple, who started dating in late 2016 and said "I do" in June 2022.

"Their marriage has been on the rocks for months," says a Spears insider. "There has been constant drama. It's sad. A divorce would be devastating for Britney."

On Wednesday, different sources confirmed about the couple’s split, officially calling it quits after 14-months of marriage.

Prior to separation confirmation, the pair was struggling with marital problems when they both were spotted without their wedding rings.

However, Asghari’s manager shut down the rumours in March, claiming the actor has took off his ring because of film shooting.

The couple has officially started dating during the shooting of the pop queen’s album Slumber Party.

The actor in September of 2021 asked Spears for marriage in a dreamy proposal and the pair tied the knot on June 9, 2022 in Los Angeles in an intimate wedding ceremony.

Asghari was Spears' "rock" during her highly publicized conservatorship battle earlier in their relationship, a source previously told People magazine.

Following the premiere of an unofficial Hulu documentary on Spears' life and the end of her conservatorship in November 2021, Asghari spoke exclusively to the outlet about being by her side.

"I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," said Asghari. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together."
