Jonathan Majors was sent back from Manhattan court with a beaming face after he was informed the trial had been postponed.
The Creed III star arrived in the court with a Bible in his hand on Thursday alongside his girlfriend Meagan Good for a brief hearing over charges of domestic violence.
However, he was sent packing after a few minutes of hearing when prosecutors expressed, they needed more time to examine the evidence ahead of preparing for the trial.
"We look forward to presenting the full facts and evidence at trial," Douglas Cohen, a rep with the District Attorney’s Office, said in a statement Thursday.
The trial is now going to begin on September 6.
Majors briefly emerged victorious from the court, holding hands with Good, dressed in a suit consisting of a blue shirt and black tie.
Meanwhile, the Shazam! actress donned a tight-fitting long white dress as she lovingly wrapped her arms around the actor and gave him a peck on the cheek while stepping out.
Majors was accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, who reported minor injuries to her head and neck after being allegedly hit by the actor.
According to the police, the actor was detained and charged with assault, harassment, and counts of strangulation.
The Ant-Man star contested the charges by filing his own domestic violence report against his former lover, alleging that she was the one who attacked him and he was just trying to defend himself.
