Suzanne Somers revealed she’s suffering from breast cancer again after her first diagnosis in 2000.
Taking to Instagram Monday, the 76-year-old actress revealed cancer returns "every now and then," assuring she successfully "continue[s] to bat it down."
She informed her fans and followers of her treatment strategy to combat the disease, expressing hope that she has been through it before and will be okay again.
"As you know, I had breast cancer two decades ago, and every now and then it pops up again, and I continue to bat it down," she wrote alongside a loved-up photo with her husband Alan Hamel. "I have used the best alternative and conventional treatments to combat it. This is not new territory for me. I know how to put on my battle gear and I’m a fighter."
The Step By Step alum also paid tribute to her producer husband and their son Bruce, 57, for their unrelenting support across the journey.
"Alan has been by my side every step of the way. I can’t even explain how much he has done for me. If it’s even possible, we are even closer than ever," Somers shared.
In a statement to Entertainment Tonight, the actress confirmed the return of her breast cancer.
"It’s a recurrence of my breast cancer," she said in a statement to the outlet. "Like any cancer patient, when you get that dreaded, 'It’s back' you get a pit in your stomach. Then I put on my battle gear and go to war. This is familiar battleground for me and I’m very tough," she affirmed.
Somers was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000. She has also battled skin cancer at one point in her life.
