Wes Bentley is feeling a juxtaposition of emotions over Yellowstone’s impending ending.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor expressed that though he "will miss" the show following its end after five seasons, he will also "celebrate it being over."

Bentley plays the son of Kevin Costner’s John Dutton, Jamie, in the Western drama series.

Yellowstone was embroiled in a handful of drama over the last few months, following rumours that Costner had demanded a more flexible schedule for filming, leading to an alleged feud between the actor and show creator Taylor Sheridan.

Reflecting on his character, Bentley explained, "Jamie stays with me. I don’t always want him there!"

"It’s been tricky though, because of the length of time. Because of the dynamics. I don’t know what they are. I’m sort of on my own here. I don’t really know what’s going on. Life happens and it drifts a bit," he shared.

The first episode of Season 5 was filmed last summer; since then, due to ongoing writer’s strike and scheduling conflicts, Bentley and his fellow actors haven’t got the call to return.

"I truly don’t have a clue where it’s going," he explained. "I haven’t seen or heard anything."

"I don’t have a date of when we’re returning," the actor added.
