Don Lemon seems to be burning the candle at both ends.
The television personality is reportedly on the rocks with his fiancé Tim Malone following his abrupt termination from CNN.
According to sources, Malone repeatedly warned Lemon against his misogynistic remarks on-air and advised him to “cool down” with his rants on television.
“He told Don many times to just cool it down and go with the flow, but Don is not the type of person to listen,” an insider told Daily Mail. “He pushes the boundaries in every facet of his life and this show was no different.”
The former CNN anchor sparked a wave of fury after he affirmed that politician Nikki Haley wasn’t suited to be a presidential candidate for the 2024 elections as she was “past her prime” at the age of 51.
The online repudiation prompted Lemon’s previously entombed history of sexism and misogyny bubble to surface, which was brought to light by Variety in a detailed piece.
Despite the couple being in friction, Malone is standing by Lemon’s side through a hurl of backlash on social media.
“'[Tim] says that [Don] is just gay with a very dry, harsh and sarcastic sense of humor,” shared the source, adding that the former “knows” the presenter is “not misogynistic.”
