Jeremy Strong would have been Chris Evans's body double in Captain America.
While Strong may be best known for his profanity-laced performance as Kendall Roy on HBO's Succession, he recently revealed in an interview with The Times UK that he was approached to appear in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011.
He was specifically asked to play the young, frail Steve Rogers before he bulks up and transforms into a star-studded supersoldier, Chris Evans' body duplicate.
Strong told The Times, "They needed someone to play Captain America's young body before he turns into a superhero."
"They said they needed a transformational actor and would use CGI to put the actual actor's face and voice over my own,” he added.
Strong claims that at the time, he was only just beginning his career and was in Los Angeles for auditions for high-profile Hollywood productions.
"I was broke," he added. "I needed money. I considered it. But that's my story of LA. It was just never going to happen for me here. It didn't feel like what I had to offer was valued."
Strangely enough, Strong and Evans, who would go on to star as Captain America in more than ten films, were childhood friends.
They were both involved in the local theatre scene as children while growing up in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
Evans reportedly exclaimed, "Oh no!" and added that he had no knowledge when The Times contacted him to inquire about whether or not he knew Strong was vying to be his body double.
