Chelsea Handler gets slammed over her links with Hollywood bigwigs

Chelsea Handler recently faced criticism for her ties with Hollywood’s biggies.

According to a report shared by The Blast, the American comedian was called out for mocking the toxic culture of the industry even though she seemed benefitting from it.

A source from the comedy world spoke to journalist Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack claimed that she used to be a guest at high-profile dinners, Oscar parties and other major events hosted by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein prior to #MeToo movement.

An insider revealed that Chelsea “now acts disgusted by Hollywood culture, but she absolutely benefited from it when it suited her”.

“She was playing the exact same game as everyone else,” they said.

Sharing the real reason Chelsea used to go to such events, a source spilled to Rob that she wanted to gain opportunities.

“Nobody went to Harvey’s dinners because they thought he was charming,” stated an insider.

However, they pointed out that people including Chelsea went there “because they wanted something”.

The comments came after Chelsea made an appearance on Netflix’s Roast of Kevin Hart, special, and her dinner with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein was brought up.

While reacting to comedian’s new turn, an insider told Rob that it was a “bit hypocritical, as the comedian is part of the system”.

“It’s hard to position yourself as this fearless outsider exposing Hollywood hypocrisy when you were actively participating in the machine for years,” explained a source.

Before concluding, an insider added, “Chelsea wasn’t outside the system — she was part of it.”
