Anderson Cooper, who has been working as a correspondent for two decades now, recently bid farewell to the show.
The American broadcaster also got emotional as he said his signature closing line on the CBS news program 60 Minutes.
Notably, the 58-year-old signed off the newsmagazine show on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, as he got all choked up, revealing he gave his everything to the show.
Although the last episode was not dedicated to the news anchor, and he started and ended the show as usual, following the strict policy, CBS released an extended farewell interview as soon as the show ended.
The extra few minutes after the program, titled, 60 Minutes Overtime, featured his behind-the-scenes discussions and the highlights of his career.
Three months prior to this event, Anderson also shared his reason for leaving as he revealed he is having a hard time managing his personal and professional life together.
He stated, “CNN doesn't like it if I take a lot of time off to work on a '60 Minutes' piece, so I've worked mostly for '60 Minutes' on weekends. My vacation time at CNN has been working on '60 Minutes' pieces. And I've loved it, but it's been tough.”
He added, “I've got a 4-year-old and a just now 6-year-old, and I want to spend as much time with them as I can while they still want to spend time with me… And those days, that clock is ticking, I think.”
For the unversed, Anderson primarily serves as the network's chief primetime news anchor at CNN, while also working for CBS for years now.
