Peaky Blinders is returning to small screens after Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, closing the chapter of Cillian Murphy as iconic Thomas Shelby and moving on to another one.

The creator of the original series, Steven Knight, has announced the beginning of a new era, as well as the first look into Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby being released.

In the statement he wrote, "I am thrilled that we are announcing a new era of Peaky Blinders, moving the story to post-war Birmingham in the early 50s.”

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Jamie Bell taking the role of Tommy Shelby’s oldest son, Duke, and to have the incredible Charlie Heaton also leading the cast. There are more exciting cast announcements to come, and Peaky is on the road again,” Knight added.


Alongside Bell, Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton and Downton Abbey actress Jessica Brown as well as Lashana Lynch, Lucy Karczewski have been confirmed as members of the cast.

The official Peaky Blinders page also wrote on social media that the events of series will pick up from a decade after the 2026 film.

Notably, two six-episode seasons of the sequel series are currently being filmed in Birmingham and will arrive on BBC and Netflix.
