Milly Alcock, who rose to fame with her role in House of the Dragon, is opening up about dealing with public attention as she steps into the lead role in Supergirl.
In her most recent conversation, the rising star has revealed that her past exposure to an engaged audience has helped her cope with the visibility that comes with leading roles.
Speaking in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actress addressed, “It definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on.”
She added, “We have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women’s bodies. I can’t really stop them. I can only be myself.”
However, during her another interview she has shared that she avoids reading comments about her work online as it makes her anxious.
She said, “I get it. They’ve been around for fucking ever making phenomenal films. … Not every film is for everyone. The beauty of art is that you can be selective.”
Supergirl is set to release in theaters on June 26.
