Jenny McCarthy is opening up about a challenging health issue she believes was linked to mold exposure.
The 53-year-old noted in her latest talk that it brought repeated infections and made ongoing treatment necessary.
In an upcoming Heal Squad podcast episode clip, the Masked Singer panelist shared that she was diagnosed with mold toxicity after a long period of symptoms and several surgeries.
She explained that her issues began with a dental complication that escalated over time.
“The last time I was here, I was literally on my way to the biological dentist because I had gone through six months of living hell,” she said. “I had an infected root canal. What wound up happening was it didn't get cleaned out all the way.”
She went on to describe how the infection later spread, requiring multiple surgical interventions, saying, “I’m on surgery, like, number eight.”
Alongside the dental complications, she mentioned that she also developed unusual eye growths that kept returning even after removal.
“On the eyelid right here, it looked like the nastiest whitehead, pus-filled eraser top growing on my [lower lash line],” she pointed out.
After continued complications, her doctor tested her for mold exposure, which led to the diagnosis.
“You have mycotoxin poisoning,” McCarthy recalled being told, adding that her recovery has remained challenging despite treatment.
