Mel B’s marriage bombshell after vowing 'I never will again'

Melanie Brown has revealed she once warned her now-husband to “look somewhere else”, insisting she’d never walk down the aisle again.

The 50-year-old Spice Girls star admitted her romance with Rory McPhee started as nothing more than a bit of “fun” after two painful divorces left her swearing off marriage for good.

Speaking candidly, Mel confessed she laid her cards on the table from day one. 

“I’m not your girlfriend. I’m never getting married again,” she told him, even encouraging him to find someone else if he wanted something serious.

But in a twist worthy of a rom-com, the pair fell head over heels and proved Mel’s own predictions spectacularly wrong.

The singer, who was previously married to Jimmy Gulzar and Stephen Belafonte, tied the knot with Rory at the iconic St Paul's Cathedral last summer in a stunning ceremony.

America's Got Talent star says their love works because it’s built on deep roots, the pair have known each other for decades and even hail from the same northern village.

Still, their romance raised eyebrows among family members, who couldn’t quite believe the wild pop star had fallen for “quiet, safe Rory”.

Even supermodel pal Heidi Klum played a part in shifting Mel’s mindset, after sharing her own story of finding love close to home.

Meanwhile, Rory has admitted his proposal was far from smooth, revealing he was so nervous he ended up “babbling” through the big moment.

Mel didn’t mind one bit, proving that sometimes, the best love stories are the ones you never saw coming.
