Andrew Garfield has been asked about his ex-girlfriend Emma Stone and a potential project she could be tied to.
The Amazing Spider-Man actor dished on his co-star and how she would be if there were a live-action version of Spider-Gwen.
In an interview with Hits Radio, the Tick, Tick... Boom! actor was asked by the reporter, “How perfect do you think Emma would be stepping into her own spider suit?”
Andrew responded, “yeah, I mean why not? Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos,” he said with a laugh about the actress and director that collaborate frequently.
The 42-year-old went on to add, “yeah, I think she could do anything. She’s such an incredible actor” referring to the Bugonia actress.
Although most netizens took the actor’s initial reaction and pitch for Yorgos positively, some took to social media platforms like X to write, “’directed by yorgos lanthimos’ nah he’s mocking it,” with three skull emojis.
Another added, “Now thats oddly specific?” and a third added “why yorgos directing tho,” with a crying emoji as a fourth questioned, “I can understand why he would say Emma since she was Gwen in the TASM movies. But why so specific with the director?”
Notably, internet users have often debated the bond between Emma and Yorgos since they team up often and she appears to be the director’s muse.
