Barry Manilow is back with a bang and a brave smile after health battle.
The music legend is proving he’s still got the magic after announcing a long-awaited brand-new album while candidly battling back from a frightening health scare.
The 82-year-old icon has unveiled What a Time, his first major collection of original songs in nearly 15 years, set to drop on June 5.
It marks his big return since 2011’s 15 Minutes, and fans are already buzzing.
Rather than leaning on nostalgia, Barry is diving headfirst into fresh sounds, teaming up with big names like Kenneth 'Babyface' Edmonds and Gary Barlow.
The album’s upbeat lead single Sun Shine has already given listeners a taste of what’s to come, and it’s pure feel-good Manilow.
But behind the scenes, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing.
The Copacabana hitmaker recently postponed his farewell tour after doctors discovered a cancerous spot in his lung.
Though he’s now on the mend, Barry admits recovery has tested his patience.
“Since I have no patience, it’s been agony,” he confessed in a heartfelt message to fans, while celebrating his track Once Before I Go climbing into the charts.
Despite the setback, the Mandy singer is determined to get back where he belongs and that is on stage.
Doctors have warned he’s not quite ready for a full 90-minute show just yet, but the star insists he’s getting stronger every day.
And there’s good news for fans as his rescheduled tour is set to kick off again on April 13 in New York.
