J.Cole is reflecting on the infamous rap feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar after being one of the people involved in it at the onset.
The I Love Her Again rapper had named himself, the One Dance rapper and the Humble rapper as the big three in rap in his collaboration with Aubrey on First Person Shooter, which the latter rebelled against saying he was above the two.
In an interview with Apple Music's Nadeska Alexis, the 41-year-old dished that he realised that things had gotten intense after he bowed out of it with one key indicator.
"I knew it was getting bad because people were calling to check on me and texting me to check on me like, 'Hey, you good, bro?' So, mind you, I am good. But I'm thinking in my mind like, 'Oh, they must be tearing me the f**k up.' Because people are checking on me as if they think I'm in a bad place,” he said.
Cole also revealed what he currently thinks of the situation saying, "I admire these dudes, I got genuine love for these dudes. I hate to see the world s**t on either one of them in defense of the other. Even saying it out loud is a little silly," referring to Drake and Lamar.
The No Role Modelz singer even spoke about the apology he issued to the 27-time Grammy winner after dissing him, noting that he felt really bad about it and like he was misrepresenting himself.
