Sheryl Lee Ralph, who is known for her roles in Hollywood movies, has broken her silence to address the ongoing debate on Timothee Chalamet’s remarks.
As the internet continues to talk about ballet and opera, the 69-year-old sarcastically sided with the 29-year-old who is being dragged by the online community.
During a red-carpet interview, the star joked that the Wonka lead was “mad at his aunt that day.”
She added to her statement in signature style, “I know that boy, he didn’t mean that. Sheryl revealed that the actor has “loved few ballerinas.”
The interviewer asked the Moesha actress to name her favourite ballet or opera, to which the Primetime Emmy Award winner named the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
She appreciated them for going “above and beyond to show” that the art is not restricted to be liked by some people.
It appears that Sheryl poked fun at the Dune lead for his comments which he seemingly made several times since 2019.
Recently, Timothee landed in hot waters after he sat down on an interview with his co-star Matthew McConaughey and stated that he believes nobody cares for opera or ballet anymore.
Previously, he has been caught on camera for calling the two outdated art forms.
