Eric Dane’s ex-girlfriend breaks silence on his tragic death

Eric Dane’s death last month has left friends, family, and fans reeling, with his ex-girlfriend Priya Jain admitting she is still “processing” the loss. 

The 53-year-old star passed away following a battle with ALS, a degenerative condition he revealed just 10 months earlier.

Priya, who dated Eric for nearly a year from November 2024, said: “I’m processing. Eric was a great guy … I’m glad his kids are there to keep his legacy alive. He was a great guy. It’s just awful.” 

Despite their split, the pair stayed on good terms, and Priya even donated $10,000 to his family’s GoFundMe fund in the wake of his death.

Euphoria actor’s estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart and their daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, are also struggling to cope. 

Rebecca told Variety: “We’ve been in a state of shock … the support from friends and the entertainment community has been incredible. 

They’ve been holding me and the girls up, and I don’t think they’re going anywhere.”

In his final weeks, Eric experienced a touching moment with an AI voice restoration project from ElevenLabs, which recreated his own voice using past recordings. 

Rebecca recalled: “[Eric] was really excited … we played it, and he became visibly emotional. When I heard it, I cried. I think everyone in the room did.”

Although the family never got to use the synthetic voice fully, it provided a precious connection in his final days. 

Burlesque star and Rebecca, who separated in 2018 but remained close, even called off their divorce in March 2025 after his diagnosis, showing that love and family endure even in the face of heartbreak.
