Barry Keoghan is setting the record straight about a personal detail that a lot of people have surprisingly gotten wrong over the years.
The Irish actor joined a list of other actors with his latest confession regarding his name, which tends to be mispronounced often.
During an appearance on The Breakfast Show with BBC Radio 1 host Greg James, the beloved Brit pronounced his name properly.
“Every time I say it on the radio, people are like, ‘It’s not Kee-OH-gan.’ I’m like, ‘It is!’” the 40-year-old began, to which Barry wondered aloud who was spreading the wrong pronunciation.
The Banshees of Inisherin actor then validated the radio host, adding “Until a Keoghan tells you it’s not how you say it, well then you know.”
Greg then went on to joke about the BAFTA winner’s nude scene in Saltburn, saying that he would talk about Barry’s Ke-oh-gan since the 2023 film, which doesn’t work with the other pronunciation.
Notably, this is not the first time that the Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man has opened up and clarified the way one should say his last name and had done so in an interview in 2024.
Yes, the Dunkirk star, Barry has previously revealed that he switched between a whopping 14 foster homes.
