Cynthia Erivo wrapped up Wicked franchise and her one-woman theatrical show Dracula before moving on to her next projects.
Although the 39-year-old actress divided the internet with her recent appearances, the Hollywood A-list star seems to be confirming a new movie role.
While Disney’s project was a musical, the yet-to-be shot movie is not a musical but will have her melodious voice.
During her appearance on the Heart radio podcast, the star shared her schedule after the theatre drama.
After taking two or three weeks off, Cynthia will travel to “South Africa” for the shoot of an upcoming movie project which remains a secret.
However, she confirmed key details about the film as the star admitted “singing in it” but “it’s not a musical.”
The two-time Grammy winner shared that her character would be “speaking a different language to my own,” which requires her to learn it in a “two, three weeks” break.
Upon hearing the news, Amanda expressed her excitement and asked more questions to get a spoiler ahead of time.
The host guessed that the movie “will be subtitled” while the singer “wont be speaking in it the whole time.”
When asked if it aligns with biopic genre, the Tony Award winner gave a mix response, nodding: “Kind of… It’s not a biopic of the character but it is involved in that time when this is happening.”
