Tinker Bell, Disney's iconic fairy from Peter Pan, is set to get its very own live-action series.
The beloved fairy was first created by J.M. Barrie in 1904 for his play Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up.
Later she was introduced as Disney character for wider audience in 1953 animated film Peter Pan.
The character also has its own franchise starting with its first film in series Tinker Bell (2008).
According to Deadline, Disney + is developing TV series named, Tink, a drama featuring the character, from Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter.
The studio has been working on an updated version of the character by Barrie.
The project has been going on for a decade, with Reese Witherspoon initially set to play the role in 2015. It was then revamped in 2021.
In 2023, Yara Shahidi played the character in live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy.
Besides Heldens and Carpenter, also attached is former Disney Channels Worldwide president/Disney Branded Television president and chief creative officer Gary Marsh.
No cast members or release date has been announced yet.
