Jessie Buckley award winning streak left Maggie Gyllenhaal in awe and full of praises.
Gyllenhaal talked about her experience of seeing Buckley in Hamnet and working with her on The Bride! and The Lost Daughter.
During New York City premiere of The Bride!, The Dark Knight star shared her thoughts to the People magazine.
She said, "I've known Jessie a long time. She was in my first film, The Lost Daughter, and I think she's really brilliant."
Talking about her winning momentum, Gyllenhaal further said, "I'm so pleased for her about everything that's happening in the world, seeing her talent."
The Irish actress played Agnes Shakespeare in Hamnet, which follows her and William Shakespeare (Paul Mescal) cope with their 11-year-old son, Hamnet's death and how it inspired Hamlet play.
Following the release of movie, mother of one has won Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama, and the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Actress.
She also took home a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role and an Actor Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
Buckley is now eyeing the Best Actress win in this year’s Oscar, marking her second time as a nominee.
As of now, she is promoting new movie The Bride! which is inspired by 1935’s Bride of Frankenstein, which in turn was based on Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein.
Buckley stars in the movie opposite to Christian Bale, who plays Frankenstein’s monster.
The Bride! is now running in theatres.
