Harry Styles overshadows Ryan Gosling's hosting return on 'SNL'

Ryan Gosling’s Saturday Night Live monologue for his fourth time hosting effectively got overthrown by Harry Styles’ star power.

The Barbie star had just begun his speech when he spotted the Aperture singer sitting in the front row and smiling, which made the actor inquire what he was doing there.

“Well, I’m hosting next week and it’s been a while so I just wanted to watch, get a feel for it,” the English singer replied.

All this seemed to  make the host nervous, who even fumbled the name of his upcoming film Project Hail Mary and mistakenly called it “Project Harry Styles.”

Ryan then attempted to explain the film, which he stated is being called a mix between E.T. and Interstellar, but noticed that the camera kept cutting to Harry.

After repeated instances of being annoyed by having to share the screen with the two-time Grammy winner, the Canadian actor realised that the cameraman donned a “I [heart] Harry” shirt.

Notably, at the end Ryan gets joined by nearly all the SNL cast members dressed as aliens for their rendition of Sign of the Times by Harry, both of which are nods to the former’s new sci-fi movie.
