Carey Parker has breathed his last at 60 after a longstanding and documented battle with cancer in one of the most advanced stages.
The Will & Grace star had been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer, as per a GoFundMe set up by his family.
As per TMZ, the acting teacher’s death was confirmed by his aunt Emily Parker, who revealed to the outlet that he passed in Memphis Tennessee on March 5th.
Corey would keep fans and supporters updated about his diagnosis which came after he underwent hip replacement surgery.
The Love Boat: The Next Wave actor would share statements that were posted by the fundraiser organizer Marissa Hoisington on the GoFundMe throughout last year.
It seems that Corey was affected by adenocarcinoma, which is a type of cancer that starts in the glands that line a person’s organs, as per medical websites.
The late 60-year-old had disclosed in January that the cancer, which had already affected 90% of his bones was now wearing down his body to the point where he couldn’t function properly and was facing trouble with speech, writing and typing.
In his final update on February 17, the former child actor had noted that he was preparing for hospice, and acknowledged the funds generated through the fundraiser.
“I cannot thank you enough for all of the love and care. Your donations have made such a huge difference in our life and have allowed me to rest a little easier knowing that our needs are being met even while I can no longer have income,” Corey wrote.
Notably, the actor’s students have taken to the GoFundMe to write kind words and to praise the now-deceased actor for hos contributions.
