Kate Hudson is back in the Oscar spotlight and this time, her whole family is celebrating.
The 46-year-old actress has scored a Best Actress nomination for her role in Song Sung Blue, a staggering 25 years after she first wowed the Academy with Almost Famous.
Speaking to Extra, Kate admitted that the milestone feels completely different this time around.
“I’ve had two decades of career and friendships and successes and failures along the way, so to be here now feels very different than it did,” she said.
The Almost Famous star revealed that the past few weeks have been a “really fun, celebratory time” for her family, including her legendary mother, Goldie Hawn.
“My whole family is just so excited — from my brothers to my mum and dad. They understand what this feels like in a way that’s very special,” she added.
Fans hoping for a Hudson family collaboration might be in luck.
Running Point actress hinted she’d be open to starring alongside her mother if the “right project” comes along.
Meanwhile, she’s also keeping busy with her music, sharing: “I’m writing a ton of different things with a lot of different people, which has been really fun.”
Goldie recently praised her daughter’s acting chops, claiming Kate inherited her talent.
“It’s instinct. It isn’t learning… we have genetics that are very similar,” Goldie told People.
She also reflected on her Hollywood upbringing: “Katie’s obviously come from two people who make movies… and with that, you see how we behaved.”
