Cillian Murphy opened about the impact of Peaky Blinders role in his life and its unforgettable journey.

The Oppenheimer star made his big screen comeback by reprising his role as Thomas Shelby in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man.

During the film's premiere in Birmingham, the Inception actor admitted that he feels incredibly proud of the long-running project and the character that made him a household name.

When asked about his character's journey through the years, the Irish actor stated that it is not easy to sum up character one has for more than a decade.

In conversation with The Metro, he said, "I think if you spend that length of time with a character, you will begin to invest in them in an emotional, kind of intimate way, which you don’t always get with films – you get it in a different way."

He went to laud the project saying that he is immensely proud of the work, show and the fans.

The Oscar winner further explained that while the show appeared to be gangster and crime centric, it is also as real as it can be.

"If the character gets injured, he stays injured," he continued. "There are consequences from the violence. Steve has woven in politics; characters die, and it’s heart breaking."

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man picks up years after the events in TV series concluded and follows Tommy pulled back from self-imposed exile into the criminal world during World War II.

In addition to Murphy, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Stephen Graham are reprising their roles, with Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Jay Lycurgo, and Barry Keoghan as new addition.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will have a limited theatrical release on March 6, 2026. The movie will then stream on Netflix on March 20, 2026.
