Bruce Campbell, notable for his role in the Evil Dead franchise, shared a heart-breaking announcement for his fans.
The 67-year-old actor turned to his X (formerly Twitter) and revealed his cancer diagnosis in a statement, calling it an “opportunity” as anyone else would call a health issue "these days."
According to the update, his disease can be treated but is “not ‘curable,’” apologising towards his admirers for delivering this shocking update.
Although the Army of Darkness star did not go in to details, he updated about professional changes which are inevitable including, “appearances and cons and work in general.”
The Hollywood actor revealed that his work engagements will have to “take a back seat to treatment,” striving to get healthy over the “summer” so he can tour with new “movie Ernie & Emma this fall.”
Moreover, the filmmaker announced cancellation of “several cons” that were scheduled this year,” noting that medical “treatments and professional obligations” cannot continue simultaneously.
The actor insisted on not trying to “enlist sympathy-or advice,” but is trying to avoid spread of “false information” amongst the folks.
Towards the end of the note, Bruce asked his fans to “fear not,” calling himself a “tough old son-of-a-b**ch.” He added: “I expect to be around a while."
He is the director, writer and actor in his new comedy drama which premiered globally on February 14, 2026.
