Megan Thee Stallion is swapping rap bars for Broadway lights as she prepares to make her dazzling debut in Moulin Rouge.
The Musical and fans are already counting down the days.
The 31-year-old chart-topper will take on the role of flamboyant club owner Zidler for a strictly limited eight-week run from March 24 to May 17.
Notably, it's a bold move for the Grammy-winning star, who admits theatre is pushing her far beyond her comfort zone.
“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the Moulin Rouge! The Musical team is an absolute honour,” she said, revealing she’s eager to embrace the challenge.
Mamushi singer, known for her fierce stage presence and razor-sharp lyrics, says Broadway demands a whole new level of discipline, preparation and storytelling.
Despite that the songstress said that she’s ready to rise to it.
“I can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me,” she teased, hinting that audiences will witness something completely different from her arena-filling performances.
It's worth noting that her strength has long been admired, particularly after the traumatic 2020 shooting involving rapper Tory Lanez.
Megan bravely opened up about the ordeal and its emotional toll in her documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words.
Director Nneka Onuorah previously praised the star’s resilience, calling her “the definition of strength” for enduring public scrutiny while navigating grief and depression behind the scenes.
