Former teen queen Hilary Duff is stepping back into the spotlight and this time, she says it’s on her own terms.
After a decade away from the charts, the 38-year-old star is gearing up to release her long-awaited album Luck... or Something.
She admitted that she simply “felt really ready to share” again, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
Speaking to Glamour, Hilary revealed she’s craving a creative stretch and a deeper connection with her audience.
“I wanted to make something that I could connect with people again on the level of who I am now,” she explained.
“People have definitely gone through some of the similar large strokes that I have in the past 10 to 15 years.”
The former Lizzie McGuire darling, who shot to fame as the squeaky-clean Disney sweetheart, also hit back at long-held perceptions about her image.
Despite being labelled the “good girl”, the Younger star insists she was “a totally normal teenager doing normal teenager things.”
Last summer, she sent fans into meltdown with a nostalgic Instagram tribute to her 2003 album Metamorphosis, marking its 22nd anniversary.
Sharing throwback snaps from her early press tours, she reflected on skate park gigs in San Jose and the whirlwind jump to arena stages.
Hinting at what’s next, she teased: “To be continued…”
Looks like Hilary’s second act is just getting started and this comeback could be her most personal yet.
