Madonna sent a message of support and encouragement to United States’ Olympic figure skater Amber Glenn, but unfortunately the latter had some tough luck on the ice.
The 26-year-old was set to perform her short program at the Milan Cortina Olympics on Tuesday night to the tune of the Evita actress’s song Like a Prayer.
It appears that the ‘Queen of Pop’ was moved by the choice and as a result sent the three-time national champion a message of support for her individualistic effort in the Winter Games, after seeing a clip of Amber skating to her song.
“I have to tell you, I was blown away by it. You are an incredible skater. So strong, so beautiful, so brave. I can’t imagine that you would not win. So I just want to say good luck. Go get that gold,” Madonna stated in her message before the event.
This left the former bronze medalist in utter shock and disbelief as she claimed she was shaking after receiving the message.
It seems that the message was the silver lining in the entire ordeal since Amber did not perform very well on the ice and landed the 13th spot.
Notably, the team event gold medalist took to her social media after the fact to send a message of resilience and sharing that she was keeping her head held high despite the loss.
Taylor Swift has dethroned Madonna in terms of being the best-selling female artist of all time.
