Snoop Dogg turns credit card fail into Olympic kindness gesture in Italy

Snoop Dogg drew international attention at the 2026 Winter Olympics not just for his role as an NBC correspondent and honorary coach for Team USA, but also for an unexpected act of goodwill toward a local Italian family.

While ordering takeout at Cronox, a restaurant in Livigno, Snoop’s credit card failed to process, leaving the bill unsettled. 

According to restaurant owner’s daughter Sofia Valmadre, the family told him not to worry and allowed him to take the food without payment. 

As per People's claims, in a gesture of thanks, the rap veteran later gifted the family five tickets to see the men’s snowboard halfpipe final at the Winter Games.

The moment added to Snoop’s high-profile presence at the Olympics, where his charismatic support of athletes and fans has made him a constant figure in the stands and at events. 

In December, the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee announced his appointment as its first-ever honorary coach, a symbolic role aimed at energizing Team USA’s participants through encouragement and visibility.

Beyond this small community encounter, Snoop has been seen mingling with athletes including Ilia Malinin and Jordan Stolz, and reacting publicly to dramatic moments like Lindsey Vonn’s crash during competition.
