The Batman II co-writer Mattson Tomlin has revealed some new details about the upcoming film.

Directed by Matt Reeves, the film follows the continuation of gritty and dark The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.

The filming is set to begin in April 2026 in UK primarily at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Liverpool and Glasgow.

In a tweet, Tomlin responded to fan praises for the 2022 original part, saying, "We worked exceptionally hard to tell a story worthy of the character. Something that feels new and dangerous."

He added, "Looking forward to people seeing it and being able to talk about it at length."

"Can’t begin to describe what this film means to me… We did our actual, literal, pushed beyond the limit best," he said.

This weekend also marked the sixth anniversary of the first reveal of Pattinson as Batman back in February 2020. While the plot specifics remain under wraps.

Apart from the British actor, the cast will see addition of Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent and Scarlett Johansson as his wife Gilda Dent, Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb/The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon.

The film is slated for release on October 1, 2027.
