Michael Jackson apart from being remembered as King of Pop, could have also been remembered as a Marvel superhero movie star if things had gone his way.
The Billie Jeans singer nearly made a cameo in the 2002 sequel Blade II, starring Wesley Snipes and directed by Guillermo del Toro.
Reported by, BGR, during a difficult period for Marvel comics when the company faced bankruptcy and had sold off film rights to major properties like Spider-Man and X-Men, the Blade trilogy emerged as a low budget superhero.
In a Billboard interview, Snipes revealed that he and Jackson met earlier when he was starring in singer's Bad song music video.
Happy with his work Jackson encouraged Spires to opt acting as his career, unaware that he was already a professional.
Few years later Snipes got Jackson's pitch for a role in the 2002 sequel. Sharing that Grammy winner wanted to play a "tough guy" character in the Marvel universe.
"I was like, 'Mike, which one you gonna do? You wanna play one of the vampires?' He was like, 'No! I wanna be like Blade's friend — I wanna fight with you!'", Snipes recalled.
Spines continued, "I said, 'Oh Mike, you got jokes.' He was like, 'No, I'm serious!' It's very hard to imagine how people would have managed seeing Michael Jackson in the Blade movie. I don't know."
However, Jackson did not get his co-star role in Blade II.
Few years later, on June 25 2009, Jackson passed away due to acute Propofol intoxication, which was ruled a homicide due to administration by his personal physician.
