Tyler Childers has revealed that he’s set to become a dad again
Unfortunately, his joyful baby news has been overshadowed by a worrying blow to mums-to-be in his beloved Kentucky.
The 34-year-old country star announced that he and wife Senora May are expecting their second child later this summer.
However, the singer shared his heartbreak after learning that the birthing centre where their first son was born is set to close its doors.
“Saddened to hear about the impending closure of the birthing center at Ephraim McDowell,” Tyler wrote on Instagram.
“In Sept of 2022, Senora gave birth to our baby boy here. We were intending on going here for the birth of our second baby.”
The Bitin’ List hitmaker called the Stanford facility a “vital part of maternal care”, warning its closure would hit rural families, including the local Amish community, especially hard.
He described it as a “top-notch medical facility that Kentucky should be proud of.”
Reportedly, the centre at Fort Logan Hospital will shut on February 16, with labour and delivery services moving 20 minutes away to Danville.
Tyler and Senora, who married in 2015 and welcomed their first child in 2023, are now preparing for baby number two amid growing concern for mums across their home state.
