Saturday Night Live returned with another jaw-dropping weekend updates segment with Michael Che and Colin Jost as they went over the political proceedings of the week.
The 43-year-old began with some good news, which was simply that dry January, which means a person refrains from consuming alcohol as a personal challenge for the month, had ended.
At a later point he stated, “This week a documentary about Melania Trump debuted in theatres, it’s titled ‘Wicked: For Real,” playing on the name of the Wicked sequel and disregarding the self-titled film.
The image and font of the new release by the fist lady was also altered with that of the beloved musical that became a cultural phenomenon.
However, Jost did not go scot-free throughout the episode as Che made sure that he took some jabs at his co-host as well.
The stand-up comedian talked about Senate Democrats, and how they agreed to vote for government funding if they agree with a few of their terms.
“Including removing their [ICE officers] face masks, which could keep agents from getting fired from their other jobs like weekend update,” Che said with a laugh as an image of a masked official was unmasked to reveal an image of Jost.
Notably, the duo also mentioned Epstein as well as Gregory Bovino’s removal from overseeing the ICE operation in Minneapolis.
Colin’s reported salary on SNL is $525,000 throughout a 21-episode season.
