Kate McKinnon has opened up about the animated films she holds in high regard, directed by her recent collaborator Andrew Stanton.

The actress attended the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah for the premiere of her latest project, sci-fi film In the Blink of an Eye directed by the 60-year-old, and remarked on his previous, beloved and critically acclaimed animated movies.

In an exclusive interview with People, the Ghostbusters star stated “I’m a lifelong fan, absolutely. The themes of the stories that he tells, to me, the films are quasi-religious texts.”

“I mean, they contain an ancient wisdom. He is possessed of an ancient wisdom,” Kate added naming his Academy Award winning classic films 2003’s Finding Nemo and 2008’s WALL-E as examples.

Meanwhile referring to the filmmaker and her 2026 movie as one that contains tales about time, humanity and life itself.

Notably, In the Blink of an Eye, in which Kate plays the role of Coakley, contains the plot description revolving around three storylines over thousands of years that intersect and reflect on hope, connection and the circle of life.
