Kristen Stewart opens up about the challenges of filmmaking in America.
The Twilight star is seemingly looking forward to leaving the country and began working somewhere abroad.
In conversation with the UK's The Times, when asked if she sees herself working in the U.S. long-term, she replied, "Probably not."
Detailing the struggles, she has faced, the Spencer actress said, "I can't work freely there. But I don't want to give up completely."
Revealing her goals, the 35-year-old artist added that she would like make films in Europe and "then shove them down the throat of American people."
She has already directed her debut film The Chronology of Water in Latvia because "it would have been impossible to do in States."
Her opinion came following her discussion on the tariffs President Donald Trump has planned to impose on the film industry.
Stewart said she believes the current reality feels increasingly unstable under the President, adding that people should take control and shape the kind of world they want to live in.
For her it means making more films. She explained that filmmaking is how she understands and connects with world.
Trump first announced in a post to his Truth Social platform his plan for a 100 percent tariff on all films produced outside of the United States, in May 2025.
However, the tariffs have yet to be implemented by the White House.
