Noah Centineo's is set to star as veteran artists John Rambo in his upcoming biopic.
The film will follow events set before His debut, First Blood, his journey and struggles of becoming a renowned actor.
According to Variety, the origin story prequel is set to begin production in Bangkok, Thailand.
The movie is directed by Jalmari Helander and will star Yao, Jason Tobin, Quincy Isaiah, Jefferson White, and Tayme Thapthimthong.
Director in a statement told the outlet that First Blood inspired him as child and influenced his filmmaking.
Sharing details on what film maybe like, he said that it will "stripped down, raw and real, survival story about endurance, persistence, and lost innocence."
Erin Westerman, president of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said, "We’re thrilled to start production on John Rambo, which will allow both new audiences and existing fans to explore John Rambo’s roots."
In addition to Bangkok, other filming locations include, Krabi, Phang Nga, and Kanchanaburi.
The John Rambo film release date is yet to be announced.
