Noah Centineo is facing backlash from fans for jumping into activism after the Jimmy Kimmel drama with ABC.
The 29-year-old actor came under fire after posting a story standing in solidarity with the host after his show was pulled from the air by ABC.
Like many celebrities, Noah added a screenshot of the cancelled Disney+ subscription with the caption, “Save money today.”
Netizens were quick to point out that The Recruit lead had bought a whole year of Disney+ just to cancel it, claiming him as performative.
They took to the comment section to call him out. One fan wrote, “You are the definition of 'performative."' Another follower penned, “Did you buy a year of Disney+ just to cancel it for ur story hahahahha.”
Notably, on September 17, ABC pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! off air due to criticism revolving around the comedian’s comments about Charlie Kirk’s death.
However, the studio recently lifted the suspension after six days of thoughtful discussion with Jimmy, but some studios, like Sinclair, have decided not to air his show.
Many Hollywood A-listers cancelled their subscriptions to Disney+, the parent company of ABC, calling the decision ‘censorship of media.’
As of now, more than 400 celebrities have signed an open letter to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) supporting Jimmy and criticising Disney's actions.
According to multiple reports, Disney lost $3.87 billion in market value overnight after the suspension.
