BTS band-mate JIN, whose real name Kim Seok-jin, revealed his opinions on how K-Pop idols should centre their lives on fans.

Although the 33-year-old talked about honouring the fandom, the online community slammed his controversial take.

In a video, the South Korean singer gushed that he believes that he and other idols “shouldn’t be allowed to date.”

According to the Boy With Luv crooner, the pop stars of the industry “should take the feeling of the fans into consideration.”

Fans rushed to X (formerly Twitter) to express their fury as one user wrote in disbelief: “omg I can’t believe he said that.”

Another netizen noted the negative impact of his statement: “Somebody need to tell him to shut [redacted] up and stop feeding into these fans delusions.”

The band recently announced their comeback tour for his 2026 which is expected to generate $1 billion, which will begin with three shows at at Goyang Stadium in South Korea.

The members successfully completed their mandatory military service for the country, coming back together after four years.
