50 Cent is chiming in with support after some charges against YNW Melly are dropped due to his lawyer’s efforts.
The 26-year-old has been incarcerated for more than six years and is awaiting retrial scheduled for 2027, for double murder of his two friends, Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas, Jr. after a 2023 mistrial.
In a recent development, the charge that Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, attempted to convince a witness not to take the stand in 2023 or more formally the witness tampering charge was dropped.
50 took to his Instagram to discuss the victory for Jamell, tagging his lawyer Drew Findling in the caption of the carousel post.
He wrote, “@drewfindling is bad Man, beating all these cases,” adding “blink if you need help. LOL,” with emojis.
Drew has represented a number of high profile hip-hop icons, like Cardi B, Lil Baby and Gucci Mane and joined Jamell’s case in 2025 after he requested new attorneys.
The Mischief on My Mind rapper has also been dismissed on charges of directing activities of a criminal gang, criminal solicitation to commit murder marking a huge win for him.
YNW Melly burst onto the hip-hop scene after the release of his single Murder on My Mind, which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.
