Timothy Busfied has been released from custody ahead of his trial, and his wife Melissa Gilbert has broken her silence on his freedom.
The Field of Dreams actor has been accused of sexual abuse of two minors on the set of The Cleaning Lady by their parents, while he has denied all claims being made against him.
In a statement to People magazine, the 68-year-old’s civil attorney, Larry Stein told the magazine how the pair feels.
He revealed that Timothy “feels wonderful” after the ruling that he is to be released from Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County following a pretrial detention hearing that lasted two hours.
Referring to the Thirtysomething actor, the lawyer said “He can reunite with Melissa,” adding Melissa is also “very, very excited” regarding his return and she could also be seen mouthing “Thank you, God” after the judge’s decision.
The 61-year-old has been supportive of her husband ever since he was charged and continues to stand by him.
Timothy has also maintained his innocence and denied the allegations made against him with his legal team pointing out that the parents, namely, Angele LaSalle and Ronald Rodis, have ulterior motives and questionable pasts.
