Timothy Busfield ‘s attorneys have presented their claims, after the director has been charged with serious crimes.

The 68-year-old was hit with shocking allegations of child sexual abuse, and has now been charged with two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse in New Mexico on Tuesday, January 13th.

It is alleged, by parents of 11-year-old twin boys Angele LaSalle and Ronald Rodis, that The Cleaning Lady director engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with the minors.

Timothy’s lawyers now argue that “the State offers no reliable proof — only allegations advanced by witnesses with documented histories of fraud and financial exploitation, contradicted by a comprehensive studio investigation, and refuted by witnesses and objective risk assessments.”

They maintain in the Saturday, January 17 filings that the parents have an obvious financial and retaliatory motive, and believe “that motive must be evaluated against the couple’s well-documented history of fraud and dishonesty.”

The filing states that the father, Ronald, is a former attorney who was convicted of wire fraud and federal conspiracy.

Meanwhile the twin boys mother Angele has had multiple civil judgements against her for fraudulent and dishonest behaviour, as per Timothy’s legal team.

Notably, The West Wing actor’s legal team has also argued that the children’s parents being informed that they would not be returning for a fourth season also added to the motive.
