A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premiered on HBO on January 18, 2026, serving as a prequel to famous Game of Thrones.

The 2011 Drama series wrapped up on May 19, 2019 with its eighth and final season, however, the new project sets almost a century before the original.

Although the release of the HBO prequel revived the popularity of the show, fans were generally left disappointed after they discovered it doesn’t include the iconic theme song.

One of the X users was left puzzled as they asked on the platform: “Where’s the opening [of the] Game of Thrones?”

Another pointed out: “The writers teasing the game of thrones intro music right into a sh**ting scene is all time cinema.”

While the intro song was somewhat featured in the series, it has reportedly not been used as a credits for the theme.

The HBO show is an adaptation of Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas by George R. R. Martin which is set in his universe of Song of Ice and Fire.
