Ryan Coogler reflected on some of his fond memories with the late Chadwick Boseman, gushing over the actor’s humor.
The Black Panther star passed away in 2020, after he lost a years-long battle with cancer, but still lives on in his legacy and impact.
In an appearance on the Good Hang with Amy Poehler, the Sinners director was asked by the comedian what the duo would laugh about.
“Have you seen Chad on SNL? He is hilarious. He played James Brown… He could do anything, that’s his natural way of being, I think… He was very disciplined, [but] ridiculous in between takes,” Ryan said.
“He was incredible, man. He would tease with Lupita [Nyong’o] and Danai [Gurira], constantly cracking jokes. We would laugh most about the costumes… some of the props too,” the Golden Globe winner added.
Elsewhere in the interview, he also called Chadwick deeply funny and someone who would keep things lighthearted even when the 39-year-old would be stressed out.
Notably, Ryan had previously stated that the star’s passing had hit the Creed actor Michael B. Jordan the hardest.
Chad had colon cancer, the diagnosis of which he revealed in 2016.
