Michael B. Jordan will be directing and starring in the highly anticipated 1968 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.
Taking to Instagram, the Black Panther star revealed the cast of the upcoming movie, which is slated to release in 2027.
He shared a series of black and white photos featuring Kenneth Branagh, Taylor Russell, Pilou Asbæk, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, and Aiysha Hart, the costars of his film.
“Day 1: The Thomas Crown Affair, 2027,” Michael captioned his new post, referring to the beginning of production, which started on Monday in London.
Notably, Danai reunites with Jordan, her Black Panther co-star, in the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair.
In the forthcoming film, Danai will play Michael’s confidante.
Written by Drew Pearce, the story revolves around Thomas (played by Jordan), a wealthy businessman who pulls off a bank heist with five strangers, sparking a cat-and-mouse chase.
The movie will be produced by Jordan’s production company Outlier Society, which also produced Jordon’s directorial debut, Creed III.
As per Hollywood Reporter, Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson penned the first draft of the movie, after which Drew Pearce took over the script.
Notably, Alan Trustman, the writer of the original 1968 film, will serve as an executive producer.
